Dermal Skin Fillers

For many years women and men alike have been using aesthetic treatments to counter the signs of ageing and replace lost volume in the face.  Now there's a non-surgical body shaping treatment that can naturally regenerate body contours.

Macrolane VRF is an innovative product currently indicated for volume restoration and shaping of body surfaces, for example, the breast, calves and buttocks.  Macrolane can also even out discrepancies in the skin surface.

Macrolane VRF is currently approved for use of volume restoration and shaping of body surfaces including breast shaping.  Many physicians see advantages of using Macrolane for breast shaping as opposed to more invasive techniques.

Women who are considering breast shaping with Macrolane will want to be reassured that the implant will not adversely affect the efficiency of future mammograms and / or the breast tissue itself.  In January 2008, at a major aesthetics meeting, a poster presentation representing the findings of a group of highly respected surgeons, all very experienced in the use of Macrolane in this indication, concluded that;

"The presence of Macrolane in the breast does not compromise the detection, diagnosis or mangement of breast disease"

Dermal fillers are an effective, quick and convenient method to correct wrinkles and small skin folds

Introduction

Dermal fillers are a quick and effective means to smooth out facial wrinkles. It may also be used to achieve fuller lips, for a more sensual look, and to improve definition of the chin and the cheekbones.

Treatment

We offer several types of dermal filler, all with natural ingredients for complete compatibility with the body. It's even possible to make slight alterations to the shape of the face. Our doctors will advise as to the most appropriate treatment, depending on each patient's requirements. The procedure involves the injection of a dermal filler, which will vary according to the skin type and the treatment required. In most cases, the dermal filler replaces natural substances found in the skin but that have been damaged by exposure to the elements and the natural ageing process - one example is hyaluronic acid (Hydrafill®).

Later Progress

Treatment is painless, and has immediate results. Sessions last 15-30 minutes and take place in a consultation room. The patient can resume their everyday activities straight away. No aftercare is required, although sun protection is required.

Filling Types
Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid (Hydrafill®) Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the skin. As time goes by, the skin may be damaged, which leads to wrinkles. With this treatment, areas lacking in hyaluronic acid are filled, and facial lines and wrinkles, brow furrows, etc., disappear immediately. It can also be used to increase the fullness of the lips. Entirely organic, the body reabsorbs the dermal filler over time.

Bio-alcamid

Bio-alcamid is a completely new and permanent dermal filler. Amongst its benefits, it is chemically and physically stable and can be easily extracted. Made up of 97% purified water and 3% polyacrylamide, it is completely bio-compatible and allergy-free. No tests are required before injection. Bio-alcamid is ideal for treating deep wrinkles and laughter lines. It can also be used to enhance lip fullness and to improved cheekbone definition.

Perlane and Restylane

Restylane and Perlane are essentially the same thing, a long lasting gel which is very similar to one of the body's own natural substances (hyaluronic acid) which makes it a completely safe way to fill out the natural some of the lines and wrinkes which occure when the skin loses some of it's natural plumpness. The only difference is perlane is simply a larger dosage than Restylane and if often use in different treatments. For more information
